
A TOTAL of €30,00 has been provided for a number of groups and organisations in Kerry under the community mental health small grants scheme.
The small allocations have been approved by Kerry County Council’s community and tourism department in association with Healthy Ireland.

The organisations to benefit include Kerry Diocesan Youth Service – €2,000, Acquired Brain Injury Ireland – €2,000, East Kerry Mental Health Association – €2,000, Knocknagoshel Over 55’s Social Club and Women’s Group CLG – €5,000, Maine Valley Family Resource Centre Castleisland – €2,000, Lauragh Community Centre Committee CLG – €3,500, Caherciveen Social Services – €5,000, Ballybunion Community Forum – €2,950, Phoenix Women’s Centre, Tralee – €3,550, Arthritis Ireland Kerry branch – €2,000.
Welcoming the allocations, Cllr Michael Cahill said the projects were selected as they align with the high-level goals of the Healthy Kerry Framework which seeks to improve community mental health and wellbeing and tackle loneliness and isolation in Kerry.
