Fund to send Mariusz on final journey home

The late Mariusz Kryszak

A FUND has been set up to help repatriate the body of a Polish native killed in a tragic road traffic accident in Killarney.

Mariusz Kryszak (45) died when his bicycle was in a collision with a car at Joy’s Cross near the Gap of Dunloe shortly after 8 o’clock last Sunday morning.

A GoFundMe page established by his friends had set a goal of €5,000 but in less than 24 hours €7,600 has already been pledged in donations.

Mariusz had been living in Killarney for several years and he had worked in the five-star Dunloe Castle and Gardens since 2004.

He began working there as a kitchen porter and had worked his way up to become a very popular hotel concierge.

The GoFundMe appeal states: “Please help us support our friend on his final journey home. The funds will be used to help his daughter, Sandra, and the Kryszak family repatriate their loved one back to Poland”.
