ONE down – five still to come.
The good news for those that missed Saturday night’s spectacular Christmas in Killarney Magic Parade is that they will have plenty opportunity to catch up on the fun as there will be four more parades on the Saturdays before Christmas and an end of season street spectacular planned foe New Year’s Eve.
The town was packed to capacity for the big event on Saturday at which Mayor of Killarney, Cllr Niall Kelleher, presided over the ceremony to switch on the fantastic festive street lighting display.
Thankfully, the weather played its part and the rain that had threatened all evening stayed away long enough for the parade to unfold and wind its way through the packed streets.
It started on lower New Street and passed along Beech Road, Mission Road, East Avenue Road, College Street, Plunkett and Main Street before culminating again on lower New Street.
And the great news is that Santa, his elves and all the favourite Disney characters will be back next Saturday at 6.00pm.
