Full-time and part-time jobs in the spotlight

New full-time and part-time career opportunities and summer work for students will be very much under the spotlight in Killarney this Tuesday and Wednesday with two big recruitment day events on the agenda.

The first will be this Tuesday when the Sheahan Group will host a walk-in open day for an exciting new restaurant and cocktail bar that will open on Main Street in the coming weeks.

Several positions are available to be filled and informal interviews will be held at JM Reidy’s on Main Street with the team available to chat from 11.00am to 1.00pm and again from 6.00pm to 8.00pm.

No appointment will be necessary and those planning on popping in should bring a copy of their CV. The positions available include bar staff, floor staff, serving team members, kitchen staff and kitchen porters as well as other posts to suit people of all ages.

Students finishing college or secondary school for the summer months are invited to apply for holiday work as, with full training given, experience is not essential. Very competitive terms will be offered.

On Wednesday next, Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce and the South Kerry Development Partnership will hold a job fair in the Great Southern Hotel from 10.30am to 2.00pm.

Close on 50 companies will be exhibiting on the day and with job seekers required to register on arrival before meeting the exhibitors.

Companies lined up to exhibit include Liebherr, Killarney Park Hotel, Killarney Credit Union, Kelliher’s Toyota, Gleneagle Group, Sheahan Group, Muckross Park Hotel and Spa, Kerry College, Great Southern Hotel, O’Donoghue Ring Collection and The Ross.

Information on a huge variety of full-time, part-time, seasonal and remote jobs will be available on the day and it will give job hunters an opportunity to connect with employers from many industries and sectors.

Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce President, Niall Kelleher, said the business community is very excited about the South Kerry Jobs Fair which will put job seekers and employers in touch with each other.

“This event could well provide the opportunity many people are waiting for and we extend an open invitation to everybody to attend on the day,” he said.
