From the cathedral to the RTÉ studios for Fr Kieran

Fr Kieran O’Brien: Parish Administrator

A very familiar face and voice on the altar at St Mary’s Cathedral, and in other churches in the pastoral area, Killarney Parish Administrator, Fr Kieran O’Brien, will be swapping his usual pulpit for a less opulent but more high-profile and bright lights setting this weekend.

The popular priest has been invited to celebrate Sunday Mass live on RTÉ One and the Sunday service will be broadcast to the nation at 11.00am.

A small group will travel to the capital from the Killarney parish and they will attend the Divine Sunday Mass which will be broadcast from the studios in Donnybrook.

Renowned and respected for his caring and thought-provoking homilies, Fr O’Brien will undoubtedly be a big hit with television audiences and it will be a great change of scenery from his usual Sunday duties.

An avid GAA fan and a passionate supporter of Austin Stacks in his native Tralee, and of the Kerry team, Fr O’Brien has a busy day planned for the Monday so he will have to resist the temptation to join the crew in The Sunday Game studio once Mass had ended.
