Footgolf proves a real hit

FOLLOWING a successful debut season on the soccer fields of Kerry, MEK United FC turned its attention to a more novel type of ball game when they took up Footgolf in the former golf course at the Gap of Dunloe.

A fantastic day was had by all in attendance with teams putting their kicking skills to the test. MEK was well represented as several families supported the tournament by entering teams. Teams also travelled from from Dingle with Dingle Bay Rovers entering two teams.

A huge thanks to Dingle Bay for supporting our club and thanks to all the players and parents who came out on the day to support. We had some fantastic sponsors who sponsored the tee boxes and the club would like to say a particular thanks to the sponsors for their support on the day.

Busy:  Registration for all ages for the upcoming season takes place on Saturday, August 6 in Fossa Community Hall, between 2pm and 4pm. A busy year is on the cards and we are looking at the possibility of fielding an under 12 girls’ team in next year’s league. Come along on registration day and get all the details.

Coaches: As the club is growing and we are hoping to develop further so we are asking all parents to get involved in some way. We can only field teams at each age grade once we have enough coaches.

All training will be provided and there is a great buzz about the club. Let’s help the club grow into the future. If there’s any way you can help, please let us know. It’s your club and we need your help. Contact Pa on 087-7943220 or Liam on 087-4145662.
