FIRIES GAA Club is ready to tee-off for one of its main fundraisers of 2021 with the launch of the inaugural club championship golf classic at Beaufort Golf Club this Saturday.
The club’s Coiste na nÓg chairman, Derek Comerford, said it is a very significant event as the progressive club is growing an at unprecedented rate and facilities have to be expanded.
“It’s particularly satisfying, on a personal level, having been involved with Firies GAA at grassroots level as a juvenile coach, to witness the great work by our members to develop our club from under-fives right up to senior players in football, hurling and ladies’ football,” he said.
Club secretary Kevin Cronin added that to link both the GAA and golf elements together, the committee decided to replicate that club championship format and, in addition to the trophy and golf prizes. the fortunate winners will secure an underage training session with three Kerry GAA stars for their club.
There is very limited availability and the entry fee for a team of four is €200 per team. Those interested should contact Derek on 085-1007703.
