
Killarney parish curate Fr Seán Jones will be the spiritual director for the annual St Pio and St Philomena pilgrimage that will take place in the summer, it has been confirmed.
The annual trip from Killarney to Italy is taking place from 15th to 19th July.
This pilgrimage to San Giovanni and Muganno will be led by Michael O’Connor and a detailed programme of activities has been organised by Joe Walsh Tours.

The trip will include visits to the shrine of St Philomena in Mugnano, the birthplace of St Pio and his family home in Pietrelcina, San Giovanni Rotondo,
It will also take in San Marco in Lamis and St Matthew’s monastery and Monte Sant Angelo and the shrine where the Archangel Michael was said to have appeared in the fifth century.
St Pio appeared to Michael on two occasions in 2010 and he was inspired to go to San Giovanni to have a life size statue carved. While out there he received a First Class relic from the Friars. Many healings, miracles and graces have taken place through the intercession of St Pio. The relic is available for anyone who would like a blessing.
