Famous five make All-Stars teams

Sean O’Brien: All-Star

FIVE Kerry players – including Sean O’Brien of Killarney’s Scott’s Lakers and Tralee Warriors star Kieran Donaghy – have made the cut for Basketball Ireland’s 2018/19 All-Star teams.

They were voted for by coaches in each division of the National League.

American point guard O’Brien, from Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania, has been included in the second team in the Division One team alongside the likes of Michael McGinn of Fr Matthews, Spencer Williams of LYIT Donegal and Ciaran O’Sullivan of Ballincollig.

In the Men’s Super League, point guard for this year’s League champions, Paul Dick of Garvey’s Tralee Warriors gets the nod for the first team while his clubmate Eoin Quigley makes the second team and veteran Kieran Donaghy is on the third team with Neil Randolph of Templeogue and Elijah Mays of UCD Marian.

Lorraine Scanlon of Team Tom McCarthy’s St Mary’s Castleisland is include among the five players chosen for the Women’s Division One second team.
