THE magic of Christmas was very much in evidence in Killarney at the weekend as wide-eyed and excited children turned out in force to meet Santa and to view the most spectacular Christmas tree in the town.
The 30ft tall tree with over three thousand lights, which can be seen all the way from the North Pole, has illuminated the foyer of the Brehon Hotel and it was the centre of attention at the annual party in aid of St Vincent de Paul.

Santa Claus took time out from his busy schedule to visit the event for the special party and, as the guest of honour, he was afforded the opportunity to turn on the Christmas lights, sparking rousing cheers and shrieks of delight.
The Gleneagle Concert Band and the St Brigid’s Presentation School Choir performed all the favourite Christmas carols and tunes at the event and there were tasty treats, hot chocolate and lots of surprises to be enjoyed.
The Brehon Christmas Tree party is organised every year in aid of St Vincent de Paul.
