Consultants have been appointed to lead the development of the Kenmare Town Centre First Masterplan.
This marks a key milestone in the ongoing efforts to continue the rejuvenation of Kenmare town, focusing on enhancing its appeal as a vibrant destination to live, work, socialise and do business.
Kerry County Council, in collaboration with the Kenmare Town Team, have appointed Purser Consultants for the project.
The masterplan will set out a comprehensive vision for the future of the town centre, including the improvement of public spaces, better accessibility and sustainable solutions for long-term development.
Kerry County Council said it remains committed to the revitalisation of Kenmare’s heart, ensuring it thrives as both a local hub and a welcoming destination for visitors.

“This initiative is a significant opportunity to create a more accessible, attractive and sustainable town centre, reflecting the needs and aspirations of our community,” said Oliver Holbein of the Kenmare Town Team
“We look forward to seeing this vision come to life in a way that benefits both residents and visitors alike.”
A key part of the planning process is community involvement and to encourage local input, a public engagement event will be held on Wednesday, April 2, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at the Kenmare Bay Hotel.
This will be an invaluable opportunity for residents, business owners and stakeholders to engage directly with Purser Consultants, provide feedback and contribute to shaping the future of Kenmare’s town centre.
“We are excited to move forward with this vital project, which will transform Kenmare into a more accessible and vibrant space for everyone,” said Jean Foley, Kerry County Council’s Town Regeneration Officer.
“This plan represents a major opportunity to revitalise the heart of Kenmare and we are eager to see the positive impact it will have on our community.”
