A total of €80,000 has been allocated to upgrade and repair footpaths in a number of housing estates in Killarney.
A sum of €20,000 is to be spent in the Kilcoolaght area which includes Dalton’s Avenue, Marian Terrace and St Brendan’s Place while €10,00 has been allocated for remedial work in Park Drive on the Park Road.

A further €10,000 each will be spent in Woodlawn Park, Ardshanavooley, Hawthorn Avenue and Brooklawn in Woodlawn while €10,00 has also been allocated to repair pavements at Ard Mhuire in Rathmore.
The funding is targeted at upgrading the existing footpath infrastructure and, in some instances, construction work has already commenced. All works will be completed by November.
The news has been welcomed by Cllr Brendan Cronin who said the funding is long overdue but is very welcome.
