Ella and her club making quite a splash

Talented Killarney Swimming Club member Ella Cremin has been selected to represent Swim Munster in an international competition in Swansea in March.

As part of Swim Munster’s regional development programme, Ella is one of 25 swimmers across the region selected to take part in the elite training programme.  Ella (15) will be competing in five events – the 100m butterfly, 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke and 100m freestyle.

This is her first international competition and is a huge achievement for Ella and the Killarney Swimming Club.

Meanwhile, Ella was one of 25 Killarney Swimming Club members made quite a splash at the community games county swimming finals in Tralee on Sunday.

The club represented Spa Muckross, Beaufort, Killorglin, Fossa, Kilcummin and Milltown/Listry and, in total, the club had 21 medal winners and five will now go on to represent Kerry in the national finals in Kilkenny in June.

They are Shane Tomlinson in the Under 16 Freestyle, Ella Cremin in the Under 16 Backstroke, Lara O’Brien Leahy in the Under 14 Backstroke, Daniel Cremin in the Under 12 Backstroke and Aideen Casey in the Under 10 Backstroke.
