
Champions East Kerry, fresh from their comfortable victory over Rathmore in Killarney this afternoon, will play Milltown/Castlemaine in Round 2 of the Kerry Senior Football Championship next weekend.
Last year’s Intermediate champions edged out Spa in this weekend’s opening round and they now face the considerable task of trying to outsmart the Clifford brothers and co at a venue to be decided.
Dr Crokes, meanwhile, who beat Kenmare Shamrock in their opening round clash, will play last year’s beaten finalists Mid Kerry who overcame a stern Dingle challenge this afternoon.
In the other round 2 fixtures St Kierans will play St Brendans and Shannon Rangers will face Templenoe.
The four winners will receive byes into the quarter-finals.
In the losers’ round, Spa have been drawn against Na Gaeil, Rathmore will play West Kerry, Feale Rangers and Kenmare Shamrocks will go to battle and South Kerry will play Dingle.
