The new N70 Brackaharagh Road project, officially opened by the Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Hildegarde Naughton, comprises the improvement of approximately 1.3km of the N70 road between Castlecove and Caherdaniel and it is located on the Ring of Kerry and Wild Atlantic Way tourist routes.
The improvement works included the introduction of a new single carriageway as well as Active Travel facilities in the form of a segregated two-way pedestrian cycling facility.

This €6 million project, which opened to traffic ahead of schedule in July, was constructed by Sorensen Civil Engineering Limited and fully funded by Transport infrastructure Ireland.
Mayor of Kerry, Cllr John Francis Flynn, said: “This is a very important improvement of this section of the busy N70 road and I wish to acknowledge the support of Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
“We look forward to similar improvements on further sections of the Ring of Kerry road in the years ahead,” he added.
Minister Naughton was in Kerry for a number of official engagements including the opening of the new Tralee-Fenit and Listowel-Abbeyfeale greenways which form part of the Kingdom of Kerry Greenways network.
