The Ashe Hote in Tralee is celebrating its 10th anniversary this April and, since opening its doors in 2015, it has become a cornerstone of hospitality in the heart of the town, offering exceptional service, stylish accommodation and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
When hotel owner Colin Boyle first laid eyes on the building that would become The Ashe Hotel in 2014, he observed: “There was a total air of abandonment.”
The property had been closed for some time but its potential was evident: a prime town centre location, generously sized bedrooms and well-designed bar, restaurant and banqueting areas.
Jane, Colin’s wife, shared their vision: “We wanted to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere by developing a great team and carefully designing the interior spaces, combining our love of vintage pieces with close attention to the comfort of our guests.”

Both are deeply involved in the hotel’s daily operations, bringing expertise in hospitality, construction and design to many aspects of the business.
Situated in Tralee’s Old Market area, the couple emphasised the importance of being welcoming to both neighbours and visiting guests. The hotel quickly gained a reputation for excellent food and became a venue for special family celebrations and events.

This popularity led to rapid expansion, including doubling the restaurant’s capacity and adding a spacious, sunlit external terrace. Today, The Ashe Hotel stands as a thriving four-star destination in Tralee, featuring Alfie’s Restaurant and Bar, the glamorous Lottie’s event space and the quirky Roundy’s Bar just across the road on Brogue Makers Lane.

As The Ashe Hotel enters its next decade, it remains dedicated to evolving while maintaining its signature blend of quality and character that has made it a standout choice in Tralee’s hospitality scene.
