A cool top prize of €15,000 is up for grabs with several other cash amounts, a five-star hotel break, shopping vouchers and a signed Kerry jersey also to be won in a major fundraising draw initiated by Spa GAA club in Killarney.
As the club approaches the 50th anniversary of the opening of its main pitch and clubhouse, it has announced a five-year development plan, described as an investment in its future.
“Once achieved, this plan will provide top-class facilities for year-round activities by those playing our games and using our facilities,” said Spa chairman Michael Cronin.
“These additions will directly benefit our local schools that use our facilities in line with the club’s commitment to providing access for all.’’

The development plan brings with it a €500,000 funding commitment and projects include ladies’ dressingrooms, a first floor viewing gallery, the addition of safety features to a community walking track, dug-outs at senior and juvenile pitches, an upgraded car park, perimeter fencing for pitches, an outdoor skills wall and a remembrance garden.
Since its foundation in 1948, the Spa club’s vision has always been to provide the best facilities and infrastructure for an inclusive and safe sporting environment, where everyone is welcome to participate.
“In order to deliver on this vision, it is important that our grounds and facilities can cater for an ever-increasing demand and to encourage younger players to play and remain in sport and other activities in our club,” said Mr Cronin.
Details of the development plan can be seen on the club’s website, www.spagaa.com, which also has information on how to purchase a ticket for the upcoming Cairde Spa Draw.
Tickets are priced at €100 and are on sale now and the draw, with 10 prizes, will take place in December 2022.
