
FOR those that needed an escape in Killarney over the course of the weekend, they had an opportunity to do so in the company of John Travolta, Olivia Newton John, Michael J Fox, Hugh Jackman and even Woody and Buzz as the Retro Drive-in Movie roadshow rolled into town.
Hundreds of people got an opportunity to watch some classic movies from the comfort and safety of their own cars in the INEC car park and smash hits included Grease, The Wizard of Oz, Dirty Dancing, Joker, Top Gun and The Greatest Showman and, for the younger generation, Thomas the Tank Engine, Mrs Doubtfire and Toy Story 4.
For health sand safety reasons, less than 100 cars were allowed per screening, the public remained in their vehicles for the duration, tickets booked online were scanned through the windows of vehicles and hand sanitisers were available.
Ryan O’Neill, managing director of organisers Double R Media, remarked: “We are delighted to offer an escape for bored children and adults. Drive-in movies are a very unique experience where you can stay in your car for the duration”.
