IS it a bird or is it a plane wasn’t the burning question on everybody’s lips in the parish of Fossa this Monday evening – it was more a case of is it a car or is it a bike when this strange vehicle rolled up.
At first glance it looked like a specially adapted vintage car although, on closer inspection, it could well have been a three-wheeled motorcycle with a canvas canopy.

Either way, it was impossible to tell but what made it all the more intriguing was that perched right at the front of the vehicle was… believe it or not… a steel black coffin.
The entire vehicle was painted black but it certainly didn’t lack colour which came in the form of skulls, chains, lanterns, fancy panneling and a wooden carving of a hand with one finger in a particularly predominant position.
The… am…er… vehicle was parked outside the Golden Nugget bar and restaurant and it certainly stopped passers-by in their tracks as they closely scrutinised and grabbed selfies with what is obviously a dream machine for somebody, somewhere.
KillarneyToday.com would have ventured into the pub to find the story behind the story but, taking our lead from the hand carving, we didn’t want to appear too inquisitive in case we were offered a free spin in the coffin.
