Towering midfielder Mark O’Shea, who was in terrific form throughout a hugely successful season for Dr Crokes in 2024, has been honoured with the club’s Senior Footballer of the Year award.

The all-action, no-nonsense performer was one of the standout players as the black and amber reached the All-Ireland Club Championship semi-final, winning the Munster and Kerry titles and also clinching outright victory in the Kerry Club Championship and Division 1 of the Kerry County League.
Not surprisingly, O’Shea was called into the Kerry squad and he certainly has all the credentials required to play a major role for the Kingdom in a central position that has been causing some difficulties since the retirement of David Moran and Jack Barry’s decision to head off on his travels.
Also a hugely accomplished basketballer, who has played at national league level with St Pauls, Mark has good sporting DNA as his father, Seanie, captained Dr Crokes to the 1992 All-Ireland Club Championship title and his mother, Patricia O’Halloran, was a very talented basketballer.
