GARDAI in Killarney and throughout the county have insisted that all units of An Garda Síochána are committed to and will continue to support communities to reduce the impact of Covid-19.
Chief Superintendent Eileen Foster said resources have been restructured to ensure the personnel are available to respond to the policing needs of the community.
“The Kerry Division has sought the allocation of eight newly attested probationer gardaí to assist in policing and responding to the policing needs of the community.
This the attestation of 319 new gardaí at the Garda Training College in Templemore yesterday to maximise operational availability and support other vital public services in responding to the evolving Covid-19 situation.
“We don’t want vulnerable people to put themselves at risk. If any member of the public is in need of assistance, don’t be afraid to call your local garda station,” Supt Foster said.
