IT’S beginning to look a lot like Christmas and that’s thanks to popular electrician Diarmuid Cronin who had the enormous responsibility of ensuring that Christmas in Killarney will sparkle like never before this festive season.
He was charged with the considerable task of making sure everything was in its place and that there was a place for everything when the spectacular street lights and giant decorations were officially illuminated.

Mayor of Killarney, Cllr Brendan Cronin, Killarney Municipal District Manager, Angela McAllen, and Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce President, Paul Sherry, presided at the virtual switching-on ceremony but, behind the scenes, Diarmuid was working tirelessly to ensure everything was in order.
Bulbs were checked, fuses were seen to and the power supply was monitored closely as Diarmuid checked on every street to ensure all was going according to plan.
And he’s not finished yet. The experienced Killarney electrical contractor is also tasked with the responsibility of overseeing the official lighting up of the spectacular Tree of Light in the grounds of St Mary’s Cathedral which is scheduled to take place next week.
