THE death has occurred in Killarney of Mrs Hannah Mary Lyne, a very well-known and popular local woman who was a great charity champion and dedicated so much time and effort to worthy community organisations.

Formerly Hannah Mary Murphy of Kilquane, Headford, she lived with her husband, John Lyne, and their family at Knockeendubh, Tralee Road, Killarney.

She passed away, unexpectedly, on Wednesday and is survived by her husband, children Michael, Miriam, Pauline and Alan, five grandchildren, brothers, sister, other relatives and many friends.

Her remains will repose at O’Shea’s Funeral Home, Killarney on Friday from 4.30pm to 6.30pm with removal afterwards to St Mary’s Cathedral.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10.30am with burial afterwards in Old Kilcummin Cemetery.

The Lyne family has asked for donations to be made, in lieu of flowers, to the South Kerry branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
