A Killarney councillor has stressed the importance for those building a new house to apply to Uisce Éireann for a refund for a new water connection and or wastewater connection under the temporary time limited refund scheme.
Cllr Brendan Cronin said a new initiative was introduced last year for a 12-month period whereby, subject to criteria, a person building a new house could submit an application for a connection refund.
The closing date for the scheme is the April 24 so it is important for anyone interested to lodge their application as soon as possible.
“This can be done on line by login on to the Uisce Éireann website and opening the Temporary Time Limited refund section where application forms and criteria are available,” Cllr Cronin said.
The standard single domestic water connection fee is €2,272 and the standard single domestic wastewater connection fee is €3,929.
