David Shaw is named player of the year

The hugely impressive David Shaw has been named player of the year by Dr Crokes GAA Club.

The towering midfielder, who is equally comfortable in attack, was a popular choice for the award which was presented at a celebration in the Killarney Avenue Hotel on Friday night.

Shaw, who has played at all levels with Kerry, has been one of the most consistent players in the game all season and he has been the standout performer with the black and amber.

The club’s lady footballer of the year is Siobhan Burns, young player of the year is Ali O’Donoghue, hurler of the year is James Murphy, young hurler of the year is Charlie Keating, junior hurler of the year is Shane Kavanagh the young footballer of the year is Seán Fitzgerald and junior footballer of the year is Darren O’Doherty.

The club person of the year is Dave O’Connor, supporter of the year is Niall O’Callaghan and the John Moynihan trophy, awarded to the person who best personified the sport of the club, went co Cillian Hickey.
