Sausages will most definitely be on the menu in Killarney on Sunday when the hottest act in town will descend en masse on the national park.
It will be the first gathering of the Killarney Dachshund Walking Club and the collective tail wagging outing will commence at 2.00pm from Deenagh Lodge in Knockreer.

Organised by Killarney dog lover Mary O’Carroll, the stroll in the park is specially designed for the short-legged, long-bodied, hounds whose shape has earned them comparison with sausages.
They come smooth-haired, wire-haired or long-haired but they are adorable little pets that always draw gaps of admiration and petting requests when they are out and about.
Mary – whose delightful Dachshund Bloom will lead the walk – said there is already a WhatsApp group for sausage dogs from all over Kerry but this will be their first outing together.
As a breed Dachshunds are full of personality and fun and they are usually very gentle and affectionate.
All Dachshund owners are welcome on the day.
