Cycling Club returns with mentoring programme

Killarney Cycling Club taking a break on a training spin

Killarney Cycling Club has announced the return of its popular mentoring programme which will commence on Wednesday, April 16.

The initiative offers adults the chance to develop their cycling skills and gain invaluable experience riding as part of a group on the open road, all within a supportive and enjoyable environment.

Whether it’s preparing to conquer the Ring of Kerry or simply wanting to improve cycling technique, this is the perfect opportunity to get started.

Thanks to the recent addition of a dedicated club room, the first two sessions will be held indoors where participants will learn about bike set-up, gear selection, and essential road cycling practices.

These sessions will take place on static bikes, providing personalised advice on bike fit and position. Following the initial indoor sessions, the programme will move outdoors for eight evening rides.

Under the guidance of experienced club members, participants will gradually build their stamina, progressing from 20km to 70km over the course of the programme.

To take part, participants will need a roadworthy bike, a helmet, a drink, front and rear lights, a spare tube and a positive attitude

The programme will begin at 6.45 pm on April 16 at the club’s bqse in St Mary’s Parish Hall (V93HX44). To register, contact Fiona on 085-7897725.
