Croke Park fixes dates for semi-finals

Eamonn Fitzmaurice: short lead-in

SHOULD Kerry manage to overcome Kildare in the last of the Super 8 series, and Monaghan lose to Galway, Eamonn Fitzmaurice will have a short lead-in time to prepare for a potential All-Ireland semi-final clash with champions Dublin.

And it would spark a fresh outbreak of Saturday night fever as that fixture has been scheduled for Croke Park at 5.00pm on Saturday, August 11.

Only six days after the quarter-final group stages conclude, the last four counties remaining will face-off in what promises to be a pulsating weekend of football.

Galway and Dublin are already safely through to the semi-finals already and they will be joined by either Kerry or Monaghan and Donegal or Tyrone.

If everything works out according to plan for Dublin, they will meet the Dubs with Galway facing wither Tyrone or Donegal the following day (3.30pm).

Kerry fingers are crossed that Galway will beat Monaghan and Eamonn Fitzmaurice’s side can manage a five-point scoring difference turnaround when they face Cian O’Neill’s Kildare.

Saturday 11 August 11 (5.00pm)
Dublin v Group 1 runner-up (Monaghan/Galway/Kerry)
Sunday 12 August (3.30pm)
Group 1 winner (Galway/Monaghan) v Group 2 runner-up (Tyrone/Donegal)
