IT has been running for an astonishing 234 years but the annual Killarney Regatta is losing none of its charm as patrons will discover on Sunday next when they enjoy the action and the sideshows at Mahony’s Point at Killarney Golf and Fishing Club.
With 16 races on the card, a very exciting day on the water is expected with male and female crews, of all aged and abilities, competing for the honours.
Newly crowned Lily of Killarney, Shauna Goggin, will also attend and will be judging the old favourite bonny baby competition while entertainment will be provided by the Mary O’Leary Dancers who have been performing at the regatta since 1980.
Racing will commence at 9.30am with the last race of the day scheduled to start at 5.30pm. Admission is free.
