The opening night of the Kerry International Film Festival was celebrated with a screening of Irish language drama Tarrac in Killarney with many of the cast and production crew in attendance.
Shot on location in Kerry and directed by Declan Recks and produced by Clíona Ní Bhuachalla, the cast included Lorcan Cranitch and Kate NicChonaonaigh and they were thrilled that the film was so warmly received in its home county.

Programme Director, Eibh Collins, remarked: “As we have such an exciting few days of films and events ahead, it only feels right to start with a bang and open the festival with a sold out screening of Tarrac.”
She added: “It is fantastic to see such strong support of not only a locally shot film but also of an Irish language film”.
The official opening of the festival took place in the Randles Court Hotel in Killarney and the event will promote and showcase film and filmmaking talent across more than 30 events via a truly exciting programme.
