THE colourful Brennan brothers were on hand to welcome the Ryan Tubridy Summer roadshow to Kenmare this Tuesday as the RTÉ broadcaster again joined forces with Fáilte Ireland, as part of its Embrace the Wild Atlantic Way of Life marketing campaign.
The RTE Radio One show hit the road for a number of days and Tubridy broadcast live from The Square today before heading off for Roundstone in Galway.
While in Kenmare, Ryan engaged in a number of activities that are available to visitors who come to the area, such as stepping back in time at Molly Gallivan’s traditional farm, enjoying a visit to the Lorge Chocolate factory and a trip to Garnish Island.
Tubs and his crew had dinner in the boathouse in Dromquinna Manor and they overnighted in the five-star Park Hotel and he also met up with Senator Mark Daly with whom he shares a huge interest in American politics.
Ryan also bumped into his own lookalike Padraig Jones from Kenmare, who locals said was his absolute doppelganger.
If there was a prize given out for the most innovative people in Kenmare on the day the hands-down winners would have been Yvonne and Ruairí Daly from Kenmare who arrived at the RTÉ outside broadcast unit with two posters pleading for tickets for the Late Late Toy Show and reminding the show presenter that there are just 193 days left for him to deliver.
Fáilte Ireland’s Head of the Wild Atlantic Way, Miriam Kennedy, remarked: “Ryan Tubridy is a fantastic ambassador for the Wild Atlantic Way and he can really get across to his listeners what it is all about and how it captures people’s imagination. Way and we are delighted to be supporting it.”
