County final replay comes to town

Bishop Moynihan cup jpgPUBS, restaurants and shops in Killarney can look forward to a major Sunday business boost following confirmation this Monday night that the Kerry senior football championship final replay is to be played in Fitzgerald Stadium.

Thousands of supporters from all parts of the county will pack the town next Sunday and the clash of Austin Stacks and Mid Kerry is scheduled for a 2.45pm throw-in.

An added boost is the glamour curtain raiser of the Under 21 club championship final, which will see Dr Crokes take on An Ghaeltacht, at 1.00pm.

Fitzgerald Stadium has also been chosen as the venue for the junior football championship semi-final meeting of Glenbeigh/Glencar and Brosna. That game will be played on Saturday, November 8 at 2.30pm.

There is no venue confirmed yet for the novice final between Listry and Lispole but the game will go ahead on Sunday, November 16.

Meanwhile, the senior football championship relegation play-off between Kilcummin and Currow will take place at the Dr Crokes headquarters on Lewis Road on Saturday next at 2.30pm.

The game will double-up with the senior football league Division 1 round 11 fixture
