Cougars to host high-flying Limerick Celtics

The Killarney Cougars side that lost, narrowly, to Scotts Lakers on Saturday night

Dave Ahern reports

Killarney Cougars will host the undefeated Limerick Celtics in the National League Division 1 clash at the Presentation Gym this Monday night with a 6.00pm tip-off.

The Cougars, coming off a narrow 86-91 defeat to the Scots Lakers in Saturday’s Killarney derby, are eager to bounce back against the league leaders.

But Joshua Strongman, Kani Glover, and Gerdes Malukas will need to bring their A-game if they’re to keep pace with a high-flying Celtics squad.

The Celtics arrive in top form, boasting a perfect four-out-of-four record that has firmly placed them at the top of the league.

They defeated Limerick Sports Eagles in the Limerick derby Saturday night 111-75, with Abdul Wurieon 33 points, Aryion Jamal Williams with 32 points impressing.

Led by the experienced Tony Hehir, they’ve been a dominant force so far this season, showcasing offensive firepower.

The Cougars have the home advantage and will need a strong start to challenge the unbeaten Celtics. Supporters can expect an intense game as the Cougars aim to hand the Celtics their first loss of the season on this bank holiday Monday showdown.

Doors open from 5.30pm.
