Construction work is due to commence shortly on a 27 unit new housing development at the Island of Geese in Tralee.

Contracts were signed this week for the scheme which is located within the former Denny factory site at the Island of Geese in the town centre.

The development, Tearmann na nGéanna, is located on Matt Talbot Road and it will consist of 22 onebedroom apartments and five twobedroom apartments.

Kerry County Council has employed the technical advisory services of Van Dijk Architects for design development and Ned OShea and Sons Construction Ltd was recently awarded the construction contract.

The new scheme received Part 8 planning approval in 2022.

Mayor of Kerry, Cllr Breandán Fitzgerald, welcomed the signing of contracts this week and he said the new units would provide highstandard accommodation for many individuals and families in need of housing.
