A COMPANY that held a Christmas draw for a worthy local cause this week presented a cheque for €650 to delighted representatives of the chose charity.

Management and staff at Kenmare auctioneers, Sean Daly and Co, select a different charity to benefit each year and the latest beneficiary was the Kerry branch of the Motor Neurone Association.

Christy Lehane, Chairman of Kerry Friends of Motor Neurone, who accepted the cheque, said the cause benefits from the generosity of people who, through personal experience, might have family members or friends whose lives have been impacted by Motor Neurone.

“This money will go towards the provision of a fourth Motor Neurone specialist nurse. The IMNDA is the only organisation of its kind in Ireland providing care and support to more than 370 people diagnosed and its heavily reliant on fundraising,” he said.

Mr Lehane also thanked the customers of Sean Daly and Co for their generous contributions.
