Community groups, schools and clubs seek project funds

28 applications were received by Kerry County Council and a shortlist of 25 was prepared

A TOTAL of 15 projects have been included on a shortlist for Clar funding for rural schemes submitted to the Department of Rural and Community Development by Kerry County Council.

The local authority received a total of 28 applications from the public and, after being assessed by senior council staff, a final list of 15 was compiled and an application for funding was submitted to the department for consideration.

Included on the main list of 10 projects are Rathmore Community Council which had requested a grant of €50,000; Holy Family School, Rathmore (€50,000); Ballyhar Dynamos FC (€30,000); Barraduff Tidy Village Committee (€25,000); Firies Parish Council (€30,000); Comharchumann Forbartha an Leith Triúigh (€9,000); Caherdaniel National School (€45,000); Ballyffinnane National School and Community Hall (€31,815) and St Finian’s National School, Waterville (€33,300).

A separate list, containing five projects, includes Cullina National School (€29,579.97); Ballyfinnane National School (€48,000); Bohesill National School (€50,000), Ballybunion Development Company (€31,500) and Fybough National School (€45,512).

A reserve list has also been prepared, if required.
