KILLARNEY Golf and Fishing Club’s ladies branch will hold two special fundraisers for three members of Brosnan family from Port Road, Killarney who are recovering in Australia after a serious car crash near Perth.
Ger and Marguerite Brosnan and their daughter, Karen, were all seriously injured and are currently on the mend on the other side of the world.
To generate to help offset some of the enormous costs they will encounter, in the weeks and months ahead, the club will hold a golf open day will take place on Mahony’s Point on Sunday, February 22 with an entry fee of €100 for teams of four. The timeheet is now open and for details call 064-6631034.
The club will also host a table quiz on Sunday, February 22, commencing at 7.30pm, in the clubhouse. Tables of four will cost just €60 and the event is of 4 open to all.
Meanwhile, the annual coffee morning in aid of Chernobyl will take place at the clubhouse on Thursday, February 12 from 10.30am to 12.30pm and support would be appreciated.
Out on the course, Ursula Daly (12) was the winner of Sunday’s club sponsored 18-hole Scramble on the Mahony’s Point course.
Second was Ciara O’Mahony (14) with Noreen O’Mahony (26) in third.
The next competition is on Sunday, February 8 with a Ladies Foursomes on the Mahony’s Point with tee-times from 8.30am to noon.
