Football star brothers Paudie and David Clifford will cut the tape at the official opening of Cllr Michael Cahill’s new constituency office in Killarney at the weekend.

The office, on New Street, will be used as a campaigning base for the Fianna Fáil general election candidate in the run-up to polling day.

Cllr Cahill said Finance Minister, Jack Chambers, had initially agreed to do the honours at the opening but, he added, that agreement was ruled out by Fianna Fáil headquarters.

“The good news for all Kerry football fans is that I have acquired the services of Paudie and David Clifford to cut the tape and declare my office officially open for business,” Cllr Cahill said.

The tape will be cut at 10.00am on Saturday next.
