All-Star Kerry footballer Paudie Clifford has insisted he hasn’t discussed the Padraig O’Hora national league final controversy with his younger brother David.
The star Kerry centre forward – a super performer for his county throughout the campaign – wouldn’t be drawn on the matter when it was raised during a Colm Parkinson’s Smaller Fish GAA podcast.

Asked what David had said to O’Hora or what the Mayo defender said in response, Paudie claimed: “I don’t know what he said. I didn’t even ask him”.
The confrontation, during which O’Hora shoved David in the back and stood directly in front of him to stare him down, was caught on camera and was one of the big talking points following Kerry’s emphatic final victory with the highly-rated defender shipping a lot of criticism on social media.
But Fossa playmaker Paudie has backed O’Hora to make his mark in the soon-to-start championship.
“I don’t think it’s fair on Padraig O’Hora getting slated because he was trying to defend as best he could and I’m sure the next day out he’ll give whoever he’s marking a tough day,” he said.
David Clifford had the last laugh on the day with a 1-6 haul, leaving O’Hora trailing in his wake as he raced through for a delightfully struck goal that sealed Kerry’s 15-point victory.
