The Golf Champion trophy – universally known as the Claret Jug – will be on display at Killarney Golf and Fishing Club on Friday, April 4 as part of the Road to the Open tour.
Killarney has been chosen to participate in recognition of its commitment to junior development, golf sixes, hosting events and championships and its involvement in the Volunteer of the Year awards.
The famous trophy will be on display from 6.60pm to 8.00pm on the night.
The awarding of the Claret Jug to the Open winner dates from 1872, when a new trophy was needed after Tom Morris had won the championship three consecutive seasons.
