Two Killarney schoolgirls have been selected on the south west under 15 inter-regionals basketball team that will compete in an All-Ireland tournament this weekend.
Clodagh Clancy and Ciara O’Sullivan, both second year students at St Brigid’s Presentation Secondary School will compete in the University of Limerick having been training regularly over the summer and on alternate weekends since September.
The inter regionals is one of the highlights of the PPSC competition calendar with nine regions and over 120 girls competing in the competition.
Both girls were part of their school’s first year basketball team that won the All-Ireland Minor A League up in the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght last May.
Ciara and Clodagh both play basketball at under 15 level with the St Paul’s club in Killarney where they are coached by Padraig Weldon.
