IT was the night the fastest fingers in the world and the most iconic voice in the country shared a special stage in Killarney.
Gifted accordion star Liam O’Connor joined forces with brilliant Aslan frontman Christy Dignam for a special one-off concert to raise funds for St Brendan’s College in Killarney.
They performed in the college chapel and they were joined by the St Brendan’s College choir and music group as well as Irish dancing pupils who added their own special touches to the performance.

Also starring were Liam O’Connor’s daughter Saoirse and son Óisin.
Another big attraction on the night was former Muster and Ireland rugby star Mick Galwey who was the guest master of ceremonies.
O’Connor, who can play several instruments but is best known as an accordion player, has the proud record of having the fastest fingers record in the Guinness Book of Records.
57-year-old Dignam, meanwhile, is one of the country’s premier rock stars and his smash hits, Crazy World and This Is are two of the great Irish rock anthems.
