This year the Rathmore branch of the Friends of the Children of Chernobyl plans to bring 16 children and two interpreters to our parish in July. As usual, these children and interpreters are kept by generous host families free of charge. To make this programme financially possible, the branch needs €13,000 to cover the cost of air fares, insurance and other expenses.
The Friends of the Children of Chernobyl in Rathmore confirm that all donations received are used strictly to finance the summer programme. Envelopes will be collected before all Masses on this Saturday and Sunday.

Work: Danny Healy-Rae, TD, has confirmed that hedge cutting from the Coom Road and drainage and skirting from the Church Road to Lisheen, Gneeveguilla have been carried out.
Death: The death has occurred of Michael Daly, Gullane Cross, Gneeveguilla, whose funeral took place last week. May he rest in peace.
Collection: €1,210 was total of amount collected at all Masses in the parish for Emigrant Services.
Parade: The Knocknagree St Patrick’s Day Parade Committee would like to thank most sincerely anybody who helped in any way to make the parade the huge success it was. It is hoped to make this an annual event.
SAG: Rathmore Social Action Group will hold an evening of music and song in Teach Iosagain on Sunday, April 8 at 8pm. Admission is €6.
Ladies: Rathmore’s under 14 girls made a great start to their season with a league win over Laune Rangers in Killorglin. The final score was 2-13 to 3-8.
Results: County Football Division 1 – Rathmore 3-13 Glenbeigh/Glencar: 2-13.
County League Division 5: Rathmore 0-8 Moyvane 5-8.
County League Division 4: Gneeveguilla 1-17 Cromane: 1-11
Allocations: Cllr Niall Kelleher has announced that €16,000 has been allocated to restore the footpath in Gleann Rua Estate in Rathmore with €15,000 allocated to complete the footpath on Station Road.
Thanks: Sliabh Luachra Comhaltas extends thanks to all who supported the recent Fleadh Cheoil Chiarraí church gate collection. Fleadh Cheoil Chiarraí takes place in Milltown in June and raised go towards the running costs of the event.
