GIANT billboards on street corners and flashy promotional hoardings at city bus stops are advising the people of Chicago that a very special visitor will be with them soon – all the way from Killarney.
Jack Patrick Healy, the supremely talented and colourful entertainer from the Gap of Dunloe, has been booked to perform in some of the most prestigious venues in the Windy City in November.
The in-house singer and piano player at the Liquid Lounge in Killarney Grand was approached by the owners of the landmark City Winery in the US city when they saw him perform during a recent visit to town.
The end result of their chat is that Jack Patrick, who has a powerful voice, has been booked to play six shows in seven nights in Chicago eight weeks from now.
“To say I’m excited is the understatement of the year and what makes it extra special is that I was spotted performing in my hometown and now my show is transferring just as it is all the way to America,” he told KillarneyToday.com.
“There are billboards advertising my shows all over Chicago and this certainly brings me closer to Vegas that I ever thought I would be at this stage of my career,” said the charismatic, flame-haired showman.
Recently described on Today FM as a modern day Liberace, Jack Patrick is renowned for his outrageous, sparkling costumes and his sparkly attire for Chicago has already been shipped out.
As well as performing in the exclusive City Winery – where Willie Nelson has graced the stage – Jack Patrick will also appear in the Howl at the Moon piano bar and The Redhead entertainment complex but there’s one other venue that is generating great excitement.
“I’ll be playing a concert in Smith Place which is where the nursing home scenes were filmed for the movie The Notebook. There is a 200-year-old Steinway piano there and I can’t wait to play it,” Jack Patrick said.
