IT’S the most popular fundraiser of the Christmas season every year and this year promises to be no different as men, women, children and the family dogs are shaping up to participate in the GOAL Mile.
The big Christmas Day fundraiser will take place in numerous locations – including several in Kerry – and details of how to enter are available on the charity’s website.
Supported by AIB, a GOAL Mile event will be held in villages, towns and cities across Ireland and virtually throughout the world with tens of thousands of people preparing to run or walk a mile to raise funds.
This year marks the first time that both in-person and virtual GOAL Miles are taking place following the move online due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Prior to the pandemic, over 170 were organised across Ireland, with approximately 50,000 people raising over €250,000 in 2019.
GOAL helped more than 14 million people in Africa, the Middle East and Latin America last year.
