Charity champions conquer the Ring

MOST are already home, hosed and smothered in Sudo Cream; many others are still out there sweltering under the Summer sun and game-for-a-laugh Anto ‘Butch’  Cronin from Ballydowney, Killarney is stealing the show on his penny-farthing bicycle as he raised funds for the Ian O’Connell Trust.

The 35th annual Ring of Kerry charity cycle has been another outstanding success with over 7,000 participants turning out to pedal their way along the gruelling 75km route.

There has been a great sense of fun and a real bonding all along the route with the cyclists starting out on Killarney from 4.30am and travelling at their leisure through Fossa, Killorglin, Glenbeigh, Kells, Waterville, Derrynane, Sneem, Caherdaniel, Kenmare and through Moll’s Gap before freewheeling back into Killarney where a rousing reception and a real party atmosphere awaits.
