Change at the top for Kerry hoteliers

New Kerry IHF chair Brian Lawlor with his predecessor Bernadette Randles

There’s a new face at the helm of the Kerry branch of the Irish Hotels Federation.

Brian Lawlor, group general manager with the O’Donoghue Ring Collection, takes over as chairperson from the long-serving Bernadette Randles.

A native of Wexford, Brian has been involved in the hospitality industry for over two decades and he was previously manager of the Killarney Plaza Hotel.

Prior to that he was general manager of the Carriage House at Adare Manor.

He thanked Bernadette Randles, of the Dromhall Hotel, for her great service, he praised her leadership skills and the immense contribution she demonstrated throughout her term in office.

He said she was a strong voice for local hotels when she advocated on behalf of the sector and the wider tourism industry.

Brian said he looks forward to facing the challenges in the industry head on, particularly the very high cost of doing business which requires swift action from the Government.
