WITH a little calm before the storm to avail of, as they prepare to welcome another huge influx of visitors for the hectic summer season, staff in several Killarney businesses are to be spoilt for a day courtesy of the Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce.
An exciting programme of fun events has been lined up for a now annual familiarisation day which allows Chamber members to treat their staff to a fun day out with a whole range of sporting and recreational activities and a great social get-together with food and drinks to round off the perfect day.
It has been planned for this coming Tuesday, April 10, and it will help the staff members to enhance their knowledge and experiences of local attractions ahead of the start of the tourist season.
“The objective is to show staff various experiences and places to visit that are on offer so that they can direct tourists knowledgably,” said Chamber President Paul O’Neill.
Among the activities lined up are a kayak tour from Ross Castle or Innisfallen Island, a Bray Head Walk and Ring of Kerry adventure, golf in Beaufort or Killarney, a waterbus cruise on the lakes, horseriding, a traditional jaunting car trip, the Big Red Bus tour or a visit to Killarney House.
That evening the staff members will gather again to enjoy pizza and beer at the Killarney Brewing Company.
