Ceilí dancing has helped raise some much-needed funds for the Kerry Friends of Motor Neurone which has a very active branch in Killarney.

Castleisland man TJ Nelligan, a great supporter of the charity, held a number of ceilí dances to help the cause and the events raised €780 to assist with the work the branch is undertaking.

A cheque was presented, on TJ’s behalf, Kerry Friends of Motor Neurone Chairman, Christy Lehane, by Elizabeth and Peggy Kelleher.

“The money raised will go to funding the provision of specialist medical equipment for our Motor Neurone sufferers, enabling them to spend as much time as possible in the comfort of their own homes,” said Christy.

“Many thanks again to TJ Nelligan for selecting Kerry Friends of Motor Neurone to be his beneficiary now that Covid is behind us. I wish TJ and all his dancing colleagues many nights of dancing success,” Christy added.
