Cash for community centres welcomed

Sneem: On of the areas to benefit

A total of 19 community centres in Kerry will receive funding totalling €385,312 to upgrade facilities which will benefit users of all ages.

The allocations have been announced by Deputy Government Chief Whip, Brendan Griffin, who said it recognises vital work that staff and volunteers do and the invaluable services they provide.

“Community centres are valued shared spaces and are very much at the heart of Kerry towns and villages. I hope this funding assists in making them even better in the provision of services to people all across Kerry,” Deputy Griffin said.

The groups to benefit include Tureencahill Community Group Limited (€22,378.06), Barraduff Community Field Organisation (€15,157.40), Cromane Community Council Company (€23,750), Inch Community Council (€10,845.99), KCYMS Management (€16,500), Keel Community Council Company (€25,000), Killeentierna Community Centre (€24,972.57) and Sneem Community and Sports Centre (€24,995.49).
